Easter - Christ's Tomb

Goal: discuss the Resurrection of Christ at Easter

Materials: cardboard, scissors, tape, rocks

Instructions:

1)  Read the suggested Bible Verses below on the Resurrection of Christ  Discuss with your children why we celebrate Easter.

2)  Depending on how large you would like to make this, cut your cardboard into isosceles triangles (you will need roughly 20 or possibly more)

3)  Use something sturdy to fold each side of the triangle inwards to create a lip around the outer edge--this will create a smaller triangle inside the larger triangle if you are folding properly.

4)  Use the scissors to cut the tips of each corner into a straight line where your fold marks intersect (see image)

5)  Attach the longer edges of the triangles together using the tape by taping together the flat edges of your fold marks on the inside to create a pentagon shape (I used 7 triangles in mine because of the size I cut my triangles)

6)  Flip your pentagon upside down and tape your remaining triangles in a circle around the inner edges each on the short side of the triangle--you should be left with a gap in-between each triangle.

7)  Fill in the remaining gaps by flipping the triangles upside down and attaching the long edges to one another with the tape--leave one triangle unfilled for the entrance.

8)  Cut a circle out and a long thin strip of cardboard to affix around the circle.

9)  Bend the long thin strip into the shape of the circle and tape it together--if you make the strip just slightly smaller than your circle the circle will fit inside without any additional tape.

10)  Stand your tomb upright and put the circular stone in front of the entrance and decorate the outside area with rocks
